About Me
My name is Julie Wingard and I became a board certified Occupational Therapist after receiving my Masters from Texas Women’s University in May of 2020. For the past 5 years I have been doing a combination of clinical care in assisted living facilities, and private practice in-home care.
I developed a passion for Occupational Therapy after 10 years in sales and deciding that I wanted a career change. I love that in this career I get to work with patients over an extended period of time and see them make improvements week to week.
I live in Lantana, Texas with my husband and two daughters. On the weekends you can usually find me knitting, cooking, or reading a books with my daughters.
NBCOT Certified
It all begins with an idea. I wanted to change my career to health care several years ago. I went back to school to become an Occupational Therapist. I found out that all OTs must complete continuing education to remain actively licensed in their state. This part is easy, but the National Board Certification of Occupational Therapists is an additional elective that keeps new research at the forefront of my mind. I am NBCOT certified.
